Why it matters
Bandai is turning its own collector-grade Dragon Ball figures into capsule toys, which puts the S.H.Figuarts name in front of gashapon buyers at 500 yen a play rather than at action-figure prices.

The line has four types: Super Saiyan Son Goku <Warrior of Wrath>, Frieza Fourth Form <Unfathomable Universe's Number One Power>, Vegeta -Old Battle Suit-, and Krillin -Son Goku's Best Friend-. The figures are boxed miniatures that reproduce the packaging down to fine detail, and Bandai plans multiple shipments after the initial release.
The miniatures are boxed, not loose, and the box art is part of the product: Bandai reproduces the S.H.Figuarts packaging at capsule size. That packaging is the point of the line, now in its third Dragon Ball set.
Each play costs 500 yen with tax included. Bandai says the set will ship in multiple rounds after the first release, so the four types should keep appearing in machines past late November rather than selling through once.
