Why it matters
The contest's grand prize is being carried into plastic on the manufacturer's own G.S.Collection line, with the winning illustrator credited, giving an amateur contest entry a direct route to a commercial scale figure.
The 1/7-scale piece is based on Gyunyu ni Kiui Touka's winning China Style KAITO illustration, titled Shirohebi, priced at 22,000 yen.
The figure stands about 295mm tall and is sculpted by KIMA, with production cooperation from the GSC Production Department and paint by Graham. Good Smile Company reproduces the deformed illustration with a white, blue, and gold color scheme, and the large white snake coiled around the body is the centerpiece. The finish aims for a glossy, porcelain-like texture. Orders through the Good Smile Company official shop include a ticket-style clear card as a bonus.
