The letter covers the previous month's stable update: the Old Castle map, new furniture, the Relic equipment slot with the Inn Egg relic, and the Dried Mandrake Shop. It also adds shearing of the Forest Puchi for large leaves and a Black History Notebook item, plus a height meter and scale from the development version.
The October letter separates what has shipped from what has not. The stable build added the Old Castle map, new furniture, the Relic slot and the Inn Egg, and the Dried Mandrake Shop, and it changed stamina reduction from combat abilities to temporary so stamina-based abilities are easier to use without a stamina source. Forest Puchi can now be sheared for large leaves if kept in captivity. A height meter and a scale, furniture themed on school, appear as advance information from the development version and can measure companions and residents as well as the player.
