SNK Says Fatal Fury Monthly Character Drops Will Continue As Long As Possible

SNK released the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves on October 22, 2026, priced at 2,970 yen for the standard edition, and added Tokyo Revengers characters Mikey and Draken to the roster the same day. In a joint interview at SNK's Osaka headquarters, director Shunto Kontani said the team wants to keep the monthly character schedule going as long as it can, arguing that capping additions at a fixed number per year would stretch the wait for requested fighters. The Switch 2 port runs at 60fps with the same character count as the PS5 and PC versions and supports amiibo. HexaDrive handled the port, which required an Unreal Engine version update and a DLSS implementation to hold frame rate. Kontani also said SNK proposes crossover candidates first, then negotiates with the rights holders, and that Mikey's rule against hitting women is reflected in how his Hidden Gear animation differs against male and female opponents.
