POLYPHONY is both the title of voice actress and singer Ami Maeshima's 2nd album and the name of the upcoming Gran Turismo 7 update, currently in two announced parts. The album is set for release, and the update's first part is scheduled for October.
POLYPHONY appears twice in recent Yomimono stories, in two unrelated contexts. Ami Maeshima, a voice actress, singer, and stage actress, named her 2nd album POLYPHONY after a book she was reading, as she discussed in the August 2026 issue of Megami Magazine's Megami's Voice interview project. The album has 10 tracks split into Act 1 and Act 2, with Act 2 holding all five of her self-written songs. The double lead track, Megami Stay Gold!, has lyrics and composition by Tsunku.
Separately, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced Gran Turismo 7's large free update, also called Spec IV, during its State of Play broadcast on September 3, 2026. That update, not the album, uses the name POLYPHONY in the headline of the Yomimono story, but the update itself is named Spec IV, not POLYPHONY. The two parts arrive in October and December, adding two courses and 12 car models in two batches, plus new modes and features.
The stories share no direct connection beyond the word POLYPHONY appearing in headlines. The album and the game update are separate releases. Maeshima's album is her second, following her first, and the game update follows an earlier update 1.71 that added four cars in August.
