Bandai Opens Preorders For Honkai: Star Rail S.A.M. Cocoon
The cocoon is the one prop the transformation hinges on, and Bandai is selling it with the light states and the voice lines rather than as a static display piece.
Reporting from 1 source: Inside.
Bandai is taking preorders for a prop replica of the S.A.M. Cocoon, the item Firefly uses to transform into SAM in Honkai: Star Rail. The cocoon has a wing deployment gimmick and a light effect with four modes matching SAM's transformation states, plus Firefly and SAM lines, battle skill sounds, and BGM. Preorders run until 23:00 on October 18, priced at 22,000 yen, with shipping set for May 2027.
The body is sculpted sharp, and the clear wings spread wide on a button press. A rechargeable battery charged through a Type-C terminal powers the light effect, which switches between four modes for SAM's transformation states.
The set also carries lines from Firefly and SAM, battle skill sounds, and BGM. A dedicated stand and replacement parts for the deployed wings are included, so the cocoon can be displayed with the wings open. Preorders close at 23:00 on October 18.
