First Keroro Gunsou Film Begins Streaming on TVer

The first theatrical film in the Keroro Gunsou series, Chou Gekijouban Keroro Gunsou, began streaming on the Japanese free ad-supported platform TVer on June 21, 2026. The 2006 film will be available for one week, through June 28. This marks the first time the movie has been distributed on TVer. The film was directed by Nobuhiro Kondo and features a voice cast including Kumiko Watanabe as Keroro, Etsuko Kozakura, Joji Nakata, Takehito Koyasu, and the late Tomoko Kawakami. The streaming launch coincides with the upcoming release of the franchise's first new theatrical film in 16 years, Shin Gekijouban Keroro Gunsou: Fukkatsu Shite Soku Chikyuu Metsubou no Kiki de Arimasu!, which opens in Japanese theaters on June 26. The new film is written and chief directed by Yuichi Fukuda, with Toshimitsu Osa directing. The original Keroro Gunsou manga was created by Mine Yoshizaki.

The film also aired on TOKYO MX at 19:00 on June 21, with the TVer stream starting immediately after the broadcast. The movie was originally released in theaters on March 11, 2006. It was directed by Nobuhiro Kondo, known for "Yu-Gi-Oh! Go Rush!!"

The story follows Keroro, who has completely forgotten about invading Earth. On his way back from buying Gundam models with Fuyuki Hinata, he discovers a mysterious shrine. Keroro breaks a pot inside, releasing an ancient superweapon called Kiruru. Kiruru gathers people's malicious energy to power itself to destroy Earth. A cross mark appears on people's faces, allowing them to converse without speaking, but the marks begin to convey only malice. An alien named Mirara, claiming to be an ancient weapon researcher, appears to explain the situation and teach the only way to save Earth.

The voice cast includes Tomokazu Seki as Sergeant Dororo, Chiwa Saito as Natsumi Hinata, and Keiji Fujiwara as Paul, in addition to the cast named in the announcement. The film was released simultaneously with "Serious Flippant Kaiketsu Zorori: The Great Treasure Hunt," and characters Zorori, Ishishi, and Noshishi make cameo appearances in the Keroro film.
