Hangyodon Marks Hands' 50th Anniversary With Collaboration Event
The tie-up runs on two anniversaries at once (Hands' 50th and the Shinjuku Store's 30th), and it puts a Sanrio character in a general merchandise retailer's stores rather than a character shop, with a visit event that requires an app membership or a purchase to enter.
Reporting from 1 source: Nijimen.
Hands will hold a collaboration with Sanrio character Hangyodon from Saturday, October 10, 2026 to Thursday, November 12 at Hands stores and the online store, marking the retailer's 50th anniversary. Limited goods using an exclusive newly drawn visual range from a die-cut drawstring bag at 1,600 yen to plush mascots at 2,000 to 2,200 yen. Hangyodon will visit Hands Shinjuku Store, which also marks its 30th anniversary, for advance-lottery photo shoots that are free to enter.
The collaboration is called "HANDS×HANGYODON" and uses a visual drawn for the retailer, with products sold across Hands stores and the online store. The catalog spreads from stationery to soft goods: clear files, W-ring notebooks, square memos, bookmarks and petit stickers on one side, plush mascots, a drawstring bag, an eco bag, acrylic keyholders and hand towels on the other. The Shinjuku Store event space on the 3F floor hosts the meet-and-greet, and the source states that availability differs by store. A limited original shopper is also planned.
