Chinese indie studio CASCHA GAMES released a demo for Ikai Magakuen, a horror adventure based on the manga Gui Wen Zhai. Players control high school girl Qiao Xi, trapped in a school where flesh and reinforced concrete have fused. The demo covers a redesigned Chapter 1 with about 90 minutes of play, and its ending shifts with player choices.
The school building in Ikai Magakuen grows and changes like a living organism, wrapped in black fog and collapsing around the player. Former classmates wander the halls without faces. Qiao Xi gathers information through conversations and notes, cooperates with companions in the same situation, and takes on the God's Trials, where breaking inexplicable rules can mean death. Player choices branch the story into more than a dozen endings.
CASCHA GAMES was founded by Cascha and Joey, the original creators of Gui Wen Zhai. The previous three series entries, Ti Shen, Qian Ru, and Yi Ren, are already on sale.
