Maebashi Witches Compilation Film Sets October 23 Release

The compilation film for the original TV anime Maebashi Witches, titled Gekijouban Maebashi Witches: Majo Minarai no Emo Emo Memories, will open in Japanese theaters on October 23. The original staff have reunited to restructure the 12-episode series into a 120-minute theatrical cut. Comedian Yuki Iwai of the duo Haraiti wrote the lyrics for the new theme song, Harebare Make Up, with composition and arrangement by EFFY. Advance movie ticket cards went on sale July 3.

The original TV anime Maebashi Witches, which aired from April 2025, follows five high school girls in Maebashi, Gunma Prefecture, as they train to become witches. The compilation film restructures the series into a 120-minute feature with new songs, re-recorded versions of the opening and ending themes, and newly recorded material. Director Junichi Yamamoto, series composer Erika Yoshida, character designer Kibou Tachibana, and music producer Yuri Habu all return. The film's story revisits the six-month journey of the five apprentice witches-Akagi Yuina, Azu, Kyoka, Choco, and Mai-plus their frog companion Keropee, voiced by Tomokazu Sugita.
