Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls Open Beta Peaks at 33,233 Concurrent Players on Steam

Two new character guide videos were released ahead of the open beta. The Wolverine guide, published July 22, shows a rush-down character built around the unique action "Berserker Claw." Pressing the unique button triggers a claw flurry that can branch into four different follow-ups: "Finish" (high damage), "Maul" (mid attack), "Sweep" (low attack), or "Charge" (armored move). Landing any of these activates "Berserker Rage," a self-buff that increases the number of hits and damage on subsequent unique actions. Wolverine's skills include the anti-air "Feral Shred" and the advancing "Eviscerate," both of which gain super armor depending on the button pressed. His ranged option "X-Force" has short range but can destroy projectiles on the first hit. The 100-gauge skill "Savage Instinct" grants the powerful effect that using one enhanced move does not end Berserker Rage.

The Blade guide, published July 23, introduces a half-vampire hunter who uses a unique action called "Heart Stopper," a quick thrown stake that homes in on the opponent. A hit applies "Marked for Death," which enhances Blade's skills. The stake has limited ammunition and must be replenished with the dedicated move "Up the Stakes." The counter move "Daywalker Deflect" can also apply the status effect. Blade's kit includes the machine-gun "Bullet Barrage" and the boomerang-like "Glaive Strike" for ranged pressure. His 100-gauge move "Muramasa Moon" grants the next two skills the Marked for Death effect without needing to land Heart Stopper first.

The opening video, animated by Sanzigen and directed by Daisuke Suzuki, features the song "Stronger as One" with lyrics by Kana Okajima and composition by MEG of MEGMETAL. The game supports online and local multiplayer and includes an open lobby for up to 64 players. An Episode Mode lets players learn each character's abilities while experiencing their backstories.
