Rag Miwano Solo Exhibition Shinnikui Opens October 9 At Akiba CO Gallery

The exhibition pairs Miwano's first concentrated showing of an original series with advance sales of an art book built around it, so the venue and the book are effectively one release rather than two.

Rag Miwano Solo Exhibition Shinnikui Opens October 9 At Akiba CO Gallery

Illustrator Rag Miwano will hold a solo exhibition, Shinnikui, at Akiba CO Gallery in Akihabara, Tokyo, from Friday, October 9 to Sunday, October 18. The show centers on Uraeto, a new series drawn from the artist's own emotions, and displays 26 newly drawn works from it. Admission is free, with advance reservations required on October 9, 10, 11, and 18. Her second art book, Shinzou, goes on advance sale at the venue from October 9.

Rag Miwano worked as an animator before moving into illustration in 2020, and her client list runs through VTuber character design: Mashiro Oshiro, Negen Yamaguro, and Ibuki Tsukitou of Aogiri High School, plus VSinger Nagi Minase. Shinnikui puts 26 new Uraeto works in one room. The show also sells its own catalog, BIG acrylic stands, randomly assorted mini acrylic blocks in 16 kinds, and acrylic blocks, with made-to-order sales of exhibited works. A second art book, Shinzou, follows on Friday, October 16.
