The manga The Long Summer of August 31st will receive both a TV anime and a TV drama adaptation. Shaft, known for Puella Magi Madoka Magica and the Monogatari series, handles the anime's animation production. The manga by Itou Hitokado has run in Kodansha's Morning since March 2023 and reached volume 13 as of August 2026.
To mark the release of 'Trails in the Sky the 1st', the full remake of 'The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky FC', Fulton Japan is selling a pocket watch modeled on the game's Tactical Orbment. Pre-orders open September 1, 2026 at 10:00 AM on the Fulton Japan official online store. The lineup has three models, each tied to a main character: Estelle, Joshua, and Scherazard. Every model embeds that character's distinct quartz layout and orbment circuit into the watch face. The circuit glows in the dark after absorbing light, evoking the moment orbment energy flows through the device. The hunter case carries the Bracer Guild emblem as a three-dimensional metal engraving, finished with an antique brown tone and aging treatment meant to recall a bracer's worn gear. Each model is limited to 2,025 units, with edition numbers 1 to 2025 engraved on the case back; numbers are assigned randomly and cannot be chosen. The package includes a special watch case and an original guarantee card featuring each character's illustration. The watch uses a MIYOTA 2035 quartz movement, measures roughly 60mm by 46mm by 14mm, weighs about 60g, and costs 16,500 yen including tax. Release is scheduled for mid-February 2027.
Nijisanji will start selling merchandise for the 1st anniversary of the unit Koyoi, ×× to Yume wo Miru. on August 15, 2026 at 18:00. The lineup includes acrylic stands, can badge sets, random Cheki-style cards, motif trays, cushions, Nijinui plushies, B2 tapestries, carabiner keychains, sticker sets, mini pouches, mugs, large rubber mats, and good dream aroma spray, totaling 13 types.
ANYCOLOR will sell the voice drama "VOLTACTION Voice Drama -Behind ELEVATE-" from August 20 at 5:00 PM on the Nijisanji Official Store and the NIJISANJI EN Official Store. The drama follows Kanata Fura, Hibari Watarai, Akira Shikinagi, and Seraph Dazzlegarden as they work on the song "ELEVATE" from their first full album. It costs 3,000 yen and includes wallpaper bonuses.
The seven-member virtual idol group FouRTe Project held its first one-man live, "FouRTe Project 1st LIVE 'ALL IN'," on August 14, 2026, at Zepp DiverCity in Tokyo. The performance featured all 10 of the group's original songs, performed with live vocals and a live band, blending real and virtual stage production. Special guests from Holostars, Astel Leda and Izuru Kanade, joined for a one-day-only collaboration. The event was streamed in real time on SPWN and Nico Nico Live Broadcast, with live viewing at 30 Aeon Cinemas nationwide. The opening portion was also streamed free on YouTube. Tickets for streaming and live viewing remained on sale as of the event date. The live took its title from the group's debut album, "ALL IN," released August 5, 2026, with all tracks produced by m-flo's Taku Takahashi. FouRTe Project, themed as an "idol group that carves open destiny," has released 10 original songs in under a year since debut.
Nihon Falcom's Trails in the Sky the 1st, a full remake of the 2004 RPG Trails in the Sky FC, is currently on sale at 50% off on both the Nintendo eShop and PlayStation Store, marking the game's lowest prices to date. The sale runs on the eShop until July 19, 2026, and on the PS Store until July 29, 2026, with the Nintendo Switch version priced at 4,400 yen (down from 8,800 yen) and the PS5 version also at 4,400 yen. The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is listed at 4,475 yen. The promotion coincides with the upcoming release of the direct sequel, Trails in the Sky the 2nd, a full remake of Trails in the Sky SC, which launches on September 17, 2026, for Nintendo Switch, PS5, Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2. The 2nd is priced at 8,800 yen for the standard edition and 8,950 yen for the Switch 2 Edition, with a limited edition Ouroboros Box at 13,860 yen. Cover Corporation announced on July 11 that IRyS, a member of hololive English, will hold her first solo concert on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at SGC Hall Ariake in Tokyo. The concert is titled "IRyS 1st Concert 'HOPE ||: Beyond the Stars'." Venue tickets are available in three tiers: SS seats for 12,000 yen, S seats for 9,800 yen, and A seats for 8,200 yen, all tax included. A first round of advance lottery applications opened on July 11 and runs through July 20. A second lottery round runs from August 5 to August 11, and general sales begin on September 6. Streaming tickets are priced at 6,800 yen and are available on SPWN and ZAIKO, with archive viewing available until November 6. Concert goods also went on sale on July 11, with orders accepted through August 17. The event is organized by Cover Corporation, the operator of the hololive Production VTuber agency.
Nintendo Switch Online members can play the full game for free from July 6 to July 12, with save data transfer to the full version. A 50% sale on the download version runs through July 19. The sequel, Trails in the Sky the 2nd, launches September 17.
Nintendo announced on July 3 that Nihon Falcom's RPG "Trails in the Sky the 1st" will be the next title in its Issai Trial program, a limited-time event where Nintendo Switch Online paid subscribers can play the full game for free. The trial runs from July 6 at 12:00 JST to July 12 at 17:59 JST. "Trails in the Sky the 1st" is a full remake of the 2004 original "The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky FC," released in September 2025. The story follows heroine Estelle and her partner Joshua as they train to become Bracers, protectors of regional peace. The game features a hybrid battle system that switches between field action and command-based combat. To participate, subscribers must download the software from the Nintendo Store before the trial period. Nintendo is also running a 50% off sale on the download version from July 6 to July 19, reducing the standard edition from 8,800 yen to 4,400 yen. The sequel, "Trails in the Sky the 2nd," is scheduled for release on September 17, 2026, and players who clear the first game can unlock special costumes in the sequel.
Rapper T-Pablow announced the postponement of his first solo album, originally due June 30. He apologized on X, saying the album is nearly complete but that a larger project beyond it required more preparation. The album was his first solo release since BAD HOP disbanded in February 2024.
ANYCOLOR announced a Blu-ray release for Nijisanji unit Idios' first offline live event, "Idios 1st LIVE 'Seize the day'." The two-disc set covers both days of the November 2025 show at Toyosu PIT, includes bonus liver camera footage, and ships with a lenticular card and sticker set in a foil-stamped storage box. ANYCOLOR announced the pre-sale of merchandise for NIJISANJI unit MECHATU-A's first live show, "Over Drive!," will begin June 19 at 19:00 JST on the NIJISANJI Official Store. The lineup includes 14 items such as penlights, ring lights, acrylic stands, and apparel. The live takes place October 10 at K-Arena Yokohama.
