COVER Corporation announced delayed screenings of "hololive 7th fes. Ridin' on Dream" in Hong Kong and Macau with Emperor Cinemas, following the live event in March 2026. Fujimi Model will release 1/700 scale battleship kits of Yamato and Musashi in its Ship NEXT Series, each priced at 5,280 yen including tax. Both are full-hull kits reproduced down to the hull bottom, but the parts are divided at the waterline so each can also be built as a waterline model. Netflix released a trailer for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 on October 15. The sequel to the 2022 anime based on Cyberpunk 2077 runs 10 episodes in Night City, and begins streaming October 20. The trailer moves quickly through residents of the city, starting on an emotional note before giving way to laughter and screams. An earlier preview showed the girl Talia meeting the boy Roman.
The roguelike action game Gatcha! Survivor now has a demo on Steam. FB777, a streamer with MSSP, planned and supervises the project; Bestman develops it and Unite publishes it. The full version is planned for release within the year. The demo starts with four characters, and new ones come from a gacha, with the official site stating more than 25 characters in total.
Affluent Inc. is accepting exhibitor applications for "Premium Lifestyle Zone by affluent," a zone inside THE GOLD ONLINE Fest 2027, set for Saturday, February 27, 2027 at Tokyo International Forum. The zone adds a fourth value to the event's aims of protecting, growing, and passing on assets. The previous edition drew more than 60 companies. General admission is free with advance reservation.
Kotaro Uchikoshi, the writer behind the Zero Escape series and AI: The Somnium Files, announced on October 15, 2026, that he established a new company called Crash Keys in March 2025. The studio is named after a fictional organization in Zero Escape and is headquartered in the Miyamasuzaka Building in Shibuya, Tokyo, the same building as Izanagi Games. Uchikoshi is representative director. Crash Keys will pursue original projects using his experience, with game development in planning, direction, and scenario writing, plus video and anime work in composition, original concept, and script. The company is seeking investment partners. Uchikoshi said he had planned to reveal the company in 2027 with a new game he and his team had worked on for about a year and a half, but the game was cancelled, so he announced early. The Crash Keys website lists members including Akira Mine and scriptwriter Muri Sasaki, plus two encrypted biographies and the phrases RHIZOME-9 and a Virtue's Last Reward line.

Asmec Corporation has begun handling Vecow's EAC-7000, an Arm-based fanless edge AI computer built on NVIDIA Jetson Thor and aimed at robots and autonomous mobile bodies. The higher-end Jetson T5000 module carries a 14-core Neoverse V3AE CPU and a 2,650-core Blackwell GPU, with AI performance up to 2,070 FP4 TFLOPS. A T4000 configuration reaching 1,200 FP4 TFLOPS is also offered. Five models cover camera input, PoE+, and 10GigE variants.

BenQ exhibited its MOBIUZ gaming monitor brand at Tokyo Game Show 2026, held from September 17, under a museum concept split into four themed areas. The first area let visitors compare the standard sRGB setting against the Fantasy mode on identical monitors using AION2 demo footage. A second area introduced Game Art Color HDR, a new BenQ feature with Clear, Balanced and Rich settings. Paramount Pictures is developing a feature-length live-action film set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077, the open-world RPG from Polish studio CD Projekt Red. The report originated as a Deadline exclusive. Lorenzo di Bonaventura, whose producing credits include the Transformers film series and The Matrix during his time at Warner Bros. Pictures, will produce alongside CD Projekt Red, the game's developer. CD Projekt Red co-CEO Michal Nowakowski responded to the report on his X account, saying the company has great expectations for Paramount as a future partner that shares its creative ambitions, and that details will be shared at the appropriate time. No director, screenwriter, cast, or release timing has been announced. Cyberpunk 2077 released in 2020 and has sold more than 40 million copies worldwide, while the 2023 expansion Phantom Liberty has sold 15 million.

IID, Inc. and San-Ei Co., Ltd. announced on October 8, 2026 that WePlay Expo JAPAN 2027 will be held over three days at Makuhari Messe Halls 5 and 6 from April 2 to April 4, 2027. The first day is a business day with no general admission, and April 3 and 4 are public days. Paid general and business tickets are planned for both, with opening hours, prices, and the sales start date to be announced later. The executive committee of the two companies is organizing the event, with CiGA (China indie Game Alliance), one of the organizing bodies of WePlay Expo, as licensor and producer. Elecom's V custom VK720AL is a low-profile mechanical keyboard with rapid trigger support and a Japanese key layout, built around a large Enter key and a standard key arrangement. It uses magnetic switch detection through the Elecom Magnetic S.P.S Engine, which tracks the actuation and reset points as a key is pressed and switches input on and off at a minimum of 0.1mm. The Fun Pimps released the V3.3.0 stable update for 7 Days to Die on October 6, adding a backpack system and expanding the base inventory. Backpacks come in small, medium, and large sizes, each with six quality levels, and slot into a new dedicated equipment slot. They can be crafted, found while exploring, or purchased, and a high-performance backpack pushes the inventory to a maximum of 8x12, or 96 slots. The base inventory itself changed from 9x5 to 8x6, or 48 slots, with four columns free and two columns subject to the Encumbered state. The Pack Mule perk and Armor Pocket Mods can remove the weight limit. The update also addresses a loading-screen progression bug and improves respawn handling with a new timeout process, and it fixes item duplication tied to death settings and broken weapons after dying mid-reload. 7 Days to Die is available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
The GREEN×EXPO Association and the 2027 International Horticultural Exposition Master License Office will open EXPO 2027 Official Store MARUZEN & Junkudo Bookstore Shin-Shizuoka on Friday, October 9, 2026. MOTTO has announced GAME FUTURE SUMMIT 2027 for June 9, 2027, at Bellesalle Shibuya Garden in Shibuya, Tokyo, the same venue used in 2025 and 2026. Participation is free with advance registration. The fourth edition's theme is "A day where know-how and passion for building the future of the game business come together." Registration opens in April 2027.
Kanipro opened the Steam store page on October 2 for Utopia '97, a fixed-screen twin-stick shooter. The game has no violent content: the player controls a boy named Chen-kun and sends cute animals to an amusement park with blown kisses and cinnamon stick projectiles. It is a version of Hong Kong 2097, the controversial shooter that could not be sold on Steam, with characters and graphics replaced. Release is set for PC via Steam in the first quarter of 2027.
Bandai Namco Entertainment said in a Steam news post that some flight sticks that worked with Ace Combat 7 have configuration features that cannot be used in Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve. The company said fixing this will take time and that it will work on improvements so the devices run in an environment close to the previous game, with further details to be announced later.
Dovetail Games released the Tadami Line add-on for Train Sim World 7 on September 30 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Developed by Union Workshop, it covers the 88 km single-track line between Aizu-Wakamatsu and Tadami and 28 stations, set before the line was split by the 2011 Niigata-Fukushima heavy rain disaster. Indie developer Suika Tabetabe Usagi opened the Steam store page for the puzzle adventure PW7A on September 25. Dieselship Studio has opened a Steam store page for Olympus 2249, a top-down single-player RPG set in post-nuclear America. The team previously released the Fallout 2 mod Olympus 2207, and the new game sits in the same world 42 years later as a standalone story. Players pick from five karma types that change quests; combat is turn-based with stamina costs, positioning-based hit rates, and body-part targeting.
Kotobukiya is taking preorders for a 1/72 scale plastic model kit of the Crest CR-C75U2 Delta Ver., a quad-legged unit from the game Armored Core 3. The kit is the fourth entry in the revival production project of the Variable Infinity Series. It has a total height of about 160mm and is priced at 9,900 yen including tax. The preorder deadline is October 27, and the release is set for February 2027. The design includes shoulder chain guns (CR-WB69CG) on both shoulders and weapon-arm machine guns (CR-WA69MG), armaments that the product description says deliver overwhelming firepower in close combat. ASCII is showing the Republic of Gamers Falchion Ace 75 HE Gaming Keyboard at TOKYO Gaming-PC STREET 9 in LIFORK AKIHABARA II on October 10.
