A Tale of the Secret Saint made its broadcast debut on October 3 on Tokyo MX, BS11, and Sun TV, with AT-X following on October 5, and it streams on Crunchyroll. The anime was delayed from April to October to improve the work. Kikunosuke Toya joined the cast as Curtis Bannister, captain of the 13th Knight Brigade.
The series opens with two episodes rather than one. A single episode would not have been enough to judge it, and the reviewer says the early plot is thin until the story has room to move. What carries it instead is the directing, the tone, and Shion Wakayama's performance, according to the review.
The story follows Fia Ruud, a knight's daughter who learns during her rite of passage that she was a powerful saint in a previous life. She now hides that identity while learning what her powers can do.
