I Think I Turned My Childhood Friend Into a Girl Manga Gets TV Anime
Azusa Banjo's romantic comedy manga "I Think I Turned My Childhood Friend Into a Girl" is being adapted into a television anime. An official X (formerly Twitter) account opened on Monday to announce the adaptation, alongside a commemorative illustration from Banjo. The manga, which launched as a web comic on Banjo's X account in December 2019 before beginning serialization in Ichijinsha's Comic Pool website in February 2020, follows high school student Kenshirou Midou, who loves cosmetics and keeps that interest secret from most people. He gets permission to practice makeup on his childhood friend Hiura Mihate, transforming the plain, undersized boy into a pretty, petite girl. Hiura enjoys the makeup and feminine clothes enough to start wearing the girls' uniform to school, and the story explores the shifting feelings between the two. Ichijinsha will publish the manga's 12th compiled volume on June 25, 2026. Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the English edition, which has released 10 volumes. No studio, staff, voice cast, or release date have been announced.
