Reflection announced Beam, an open model with 501 billion parameters and 23 billion active parameters. It was pretrained on 23.8 trillion tokens and trained with reinforcement learning across 10,500 NVIDIA GB300s for four weeks, generating over 100 million rollouts. Reflection says Beam matches GLM 5.2 on coding and agentic tasks at one-third to one-quarter the inference compute, and approaches Qwen 3.8-Max.
BeamNG announced that the PS5 version of BeamNG.drive will release on October 19, 2026, alongside a new trailer. The Japanese PS Store page now lists distribution starting at 11:00 p.m. that day. The game, announced for PS5 in May, runs on a soft-body physics engine that simulates vehicle parts in real time and includes 12 open-world environments plus Free Roam, Scenarios, and Time Trials modes.
Sonos announced Sonos 27, a new version of the audio operating system it has developed for more than 20 years, on September 2. The release names the system Sonos has built to date and adds AI control, home-wide sound linking, and a redesigned app. Two new products join the lineup. Beam Ultra is a mid-size soundbar with nine custom drivers, two of them upward-firing, for 7.1.2 Dolby Atmos, priced at 99,800 yen. Ace Ultra is an over-ear headphone with 40mm drivers, adaptive noise cancellation using 10 microphones, and up to 35 hours of battery life with ANC on, priced at 69,800 yen. Sonos 27 arrives as a software update on all Sonos S2-compatible products, though some features need compatible hardware. The new app navigation and Sonos 27mcp roll out as early access starting September 8. Headphone Linking comes to Ace Ultra as early access starting September 29.
CESA will sell GAME ARTeee COLLECTION, a limited-time Tokyo Game Show 2026 collaboration with the BEAMS MANGART label, from September 15 at two BEAMS stores and the BEAMS online shop. The collection marks TGS's 30th anniversary and BEAMS's 50th. It includes seven T-shirts drawn by Zashikiwarashi, a group-illustration T-shirt, and an All-Star T-shirt, all on pre-order.
AMAKUNI's competitive swimsuit figure series Swimsuit Silhouette adds illustrator Kani Beam's original character Watora. The 1/7 scale figure captures her waving while adjusting her swimsuit wedgie at the poolside. It releases from December 2026 to January 2027. A limited edition includes a B3 cross poster.
BeamNG released version 0.39 of BeamNG.drive, the largest update to date for the realistic driving game. The update includes major graphical overhauls, a complete UI redesign, new vehicles, and quality-of-life improvements. The game remains in Early Access on Steam, with a PS5 version announced for 2026.
WAKA and BEAMS jointly developed and released the original Roblox game "Mannequin kara Fuku wo Atsume ro!" (STEAL THE CLOTHES) on August 7, 2026. The game, BEAMS's first original game, is a collection-style experience where players explore a city, gather fashion items, and compete to steal items from other players.
BeamNG.drive version 0.39, released July 30, includes a major graphics overhaul that replaces the conventional ACES tone mapper with tone mapping technology from Gran Turismo 7. Polyphony Digital presented the technique at SIGGRAPH 2025 and released C++ sample code under the MIT license. The update also adds HDR support for Vulkan and Direct3D 12, a UI overhaul, and a revamped photo mode.

Global released five manga in English over the past few weeks, including I'm Now the Princess of Spring in Another World, Fantasy Gourmet, Sunbeams in the Sky, Since I Was Confessed To, Milady Has Been Acting Strange, and School Submarine Fleet: Mermaid Girls. The titles span isekai, romance comedy, and sci-fi action genres.
Indie studio BitBeamCannon is crowdfunding Metro Siege, a belt-scroll action game for NEOGEO, Amiga, and PC. The campaign runs until July 5, 2026, and has already surpassed its €16,000 goal. The game features three characters with alternate fighting styles, platform-specific differences, and systems inspired by Streets of Rage 2 and Knights of the Round. Physical editions include NEOGEO cartridges and Amiga floppy disks.
Indie developer BeamNG announced a PS5 version of the driving simulation game BeamNG.drive, known for its realistic soft-body physics and vehicle deformation. The console port is scheduled for release within 2026 and will include 12 open-world maps, over 1,000 vehicle types, and various game modes. A trailer and a Japanese PS Store page have been released.
