Beaten Path Strategy RPG, Inspired by Fire Emblem and FF Tactics, Sets 2027 Release

Wales Interactive announced on August 5 that Beaten Path, a turn-based tactical RPG developed by Peacebreak Studio, will launch in 2027 for PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch, with Japanese text support planned. The game draws explicit inspiration from Final Fantasy Tactics and Fire Emblem, featuring grid-based battles where terrain, unit positioning, flanking, and elemental affinities shape combat. Players control Panna, a white-haired amnesiac protagonist, as she gathers companions in a world ruled by fallen gods and ancient machines, confronting a repeating fate. The game includes over 25 fully voiced characters, a dual-job system combining two classes, 10 weapon types, more than 100 weapons, and unique skill trees for over 250 jobs. Peacebreak Studio, based in California, is a solo developer led by Jarett Gross, and this is the studio's first work. The Kickstarter campaign, launched in August 2025, raised about $55,834 (roughly 8.8 million yen) from 1,394 backers, exceeding its $20,000 goal. Within 12 hours of the announcement, the Steam page had over 1,100 followers.
