Global bilibili App Launches on Android With AI Translation
Chinese video platform bilibili has begun distributing a global version of its smartphone app, the company announced on August 19, 2026 via its official overseas creator account, bilibili Creator Hub. As of the announcement, the app is available only on Android, with an iOS version expected soon and support for additional countries planned. The global app highlights three main features: access to content distributed worldwide, improved translation performance, and a simplified sign-up process that does not require identity verification, a departure from the stricter registration bilibili has previously enforced. On Google Play, the app is listed as "bilibili - All your favorite videos are here" and has been downloaded over 5 million times as of the time of writing. The app also includes an AI translation function and AI dubbing, which bilibili says lets users "enjoy videos from creators around the world more closely, transcending language barriers." Content spans game live streaming, e-sports, technology, anime-related fan content, and music. The global version is a separate app from "BiliBili -HD Anime, Videos," bilibili's Southeast Asia-focused anime platform, which has over 100 million downloads. Feedback and bug reports for the global version are accepted on an official Discord server.
