Bothtec's Relics MSX2 Joins EGG Console on Steam June 19
D4 Enterprise announced on June 2, 2026, that Bothtec's 1986 action-adventure game "Relics MSX2" will be released on Steam as part of the EGG Console line on June 19, 2026, for 1,200 yen. The game is set in a mysterious ruin that rose from the sea, where the player controls a protagonist who exists as a spiritual entity with no clear objective. The core mechanic is the "Spirit Ride" possession system, which lets the protagonist take over the bodies of defeated enemies. The possessed body determines attack methods, stamina, and how other characters react, making body choice a strategic element. The original game was noted for its sci-fi character designs, detailed humanoid animations, and effective use of sound effects such as wave sounds, which created a cinematic experience for its time. The EGG Console version includes a Scene Select mode for jumping to specific scenes, final battles, and endings, plus a Gallery mode for viewing the original manual and package art.
