BULL reported that HORN-L, the demonstration unit of its HORN post-mission disposal device, launched on H3 Rocket No. 6 on June 12, 2026, reentered Earth's atmosphere on August 27, 2026 (UTC), about two and a half months after launch. On August 23, 2026, four days before reentry, the company captured orbital imaging showing the fan-shaped membrane still deployed.
Dengeki Bunko announced that Shiden Kanzaki's Black Bullet light novel series will get a reboot titled Black Bullet: New World Order, releasing two volumes a month from November 2026 to February 2027. The first volumes reprint the original story with additions and edits, but from January 2027 the story diverges, and the February volumes end differently. Kanzaki also has a new original work, Aku no Shinzui, planned for spring 2027.
Hasegawa will re-release three 1/72 scale VF-1J Battroid plastic model kits between November and December 2026. The lineup includes the Armored Valkyrie, the Armored Valkyrie "Operation Bulls-Eye Part 2," and the Super Battroid Valkyrie "Milia." Each kit features Hideki Tenjin package art and specific decals.
Premium Bandai is accepting reservations for three pieces of Charitable apparel from Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX. Challia Bull's Glasses, a glasses stand, and a necktie replicate items worn by the character in the TV anime. The glasses, priced at 14,850 yen, include a green case and cloth.
Red Bull Japan announced on August 19, 2026 that it will hold the invitation-only show match "Red Bull Revenge" for "Street Fighter 6" on September 21, the final day of Tokyo Game Show 2026. The event will take place on the event stage in Exhibition Hall 1 of Makuhari Messe, with free spectator seating. The project reenacts famous matches from the history of the "Street Fighter" competitive scene using "Street Fighter 6." Eight top players from Japan and abroad will participate: Big Bird, Bonchan, Tokido, MenaRD, Blaz, Sahara, LeShar, and Kawano. The event consists of four cards, each carrying past grudges and memories of wins and losses. The matchups are Big Bird vs Bonchan, Tokido vs MenaRD, Blaz vs Sahara, and LeShar vs Kawano. The format is first to five wins. The event will also be streamed on YouTube and Twitch. Red Bull Japan describes the event as "four matches to settle the score," with players striving to surpass "themselves from back then."
Banpresto is releasing prize figures of Char Aznable and Sharia Bull from Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX. Each figure stands about 26 cm tall and features detailed sculpting of costumes and fingertips. They appear sequentially in crane games starting August 25, 2026.
On August 3, developer taptroise announced 'Bull Simulator' and opened its Steam store page. The game is a comedy destruction simulator for PC (Steam) where players control an enraged bull rampaging through a city. The bull can headbutt crowds into the air, destroy stalls, vehicles, fences, and buildings, and chase panicked crowds that react by climbing onto cars and walls or stumbling and falling. The trailer shows the bull running wild in urban areas, wheat fields, beaches, and grasslands, including knocking people cornered on a cliff into the sea. The developer said they researched actual bull-running events and are attempting to simulate crowd behavior and situations. The game also includes events inspired by bull runs and bullfighting, plus challenges and time-limited objectives. It is described as appealing to fans of 'Goat Simulator,' 'DEEEER Simulator,' or 'Untitled Goose Game.' 'Bull Simulator' is currently in development and scheduled for release on Steam.
Rapper Awich will headline the first Japan edition of Red Bull Symphonic, a live event that fuses hip-hop with orchestral arrangements. The show pairs Awich with the Tokyo Secret Orchestra, conducted by Mika Takayama, and will rework Awich's representative songs for a full orchestra. The tour runs across four cities in November 2026, starting at The Symphony Hall in Osaka on November 17, followed by Fukuoka Symphony Hall on November 19, Sendai Bank Hall Izumity21 on November 25, and Yokohama Minato Mirai Hall on November 27. Tickets are priced at 9,000 yen for S seats and 7,500 yen for A seats, with early bird sales opening August 7 at 6:00 PM. Red Bull Symphonic has previously featured international rappers such as Metro Boomin, Asake, and Rick Ross. Since its debut in Austria in 2020, the series has staged 39 performances across 22 countries, with a 2024 show in Egypt drawing about 10,000 attendees, its largest audience to date. Awich, a central figure in the hip-hop crew YENTOWN, released the album Okinawan Wuman in November 2025, produced entirely by RZA of Wu-Tang Clan.
Amazon Kindle has launched a large-scale sale offering up to 50% points back on select Kadokawa manga titles, running from July 7 through July 13 for the Kadokawa campaign and until July 23 for the Summer Super Point Fair. The promotion coincides with Amazon Prime Day and covers dozens of series, including Delicious in Dungeon, Tsukihime: A Piece of Blue Glass Moon, Nichijou, Persona 3, Persona 4, Persona 5: Mementos Mission, and Gunslinger Girl. The August issue of Kadokawa's Gundam Ace magazine revealed that Hajime Kamoshida and Shuei Takagi's Mobile Suit Gundam Eight manga will receive a special promotional video. Tomoki Kyoda will direct the video at Raging Bull. The manga is set in a new setting called the Constant Calendar, where survivors fight Kaiju using the last Gundam.
Independent developer eye-factory has released a demo for the gyro-controlled third-person shooter 'Amnesia Bullet' on Steam. The developer, who had no prior programming experience, used AI chat tools and Unity to build the game and publish the demo in 30 days. A post on X documenting the first week of development received roughly 970,000 impressions. The game is a single-player action shooter in which a girl who lost her memory fights enemies across 3D stages. Players switch between assault rifles, sniper rifles, and launchers. The demo covers the early story and the first stage, '1st Memory (Blue).' Clearing normal difficulty unlocks higher difficulties. The developer recommends a gamepad with gyro support, and compatibility has been confirmed with the original Nintendo Switch Pro Controller and DualSense. 'Amnesia Bullet' is scheduled to begin early access on PC via Steam around early July 2026.
Larry Clark's 2001 youth crime film 'Bully' will screen in 4K starting September 11 at Tokyo's Shinjuku Cinema Square and other theaters. The revival, 25 years after production, is based on Jim Schutze's nonfiction book about a 1993 murder case. The cast includes Brad Renfro, Bijou Phillips, and Michael Pitt.
The Japan Society and Anime NYC announced the nominees for the third American Manga Awards on Monday. Categories include Best New Manga, Best Continuing Manga Series, Best One-Shot Manga, Best New Edition of Classic Manga, Best Lettering, Best Translation, and Best Publication Design. Chigusa Ogino will receive the Manga Publishing Hall of Fame award.
