Cucina Stellata Brings Cosmic Horror to the Kitchen on Steam for Free
CRITICAL REFLEX released Filthy Eden's psychological horror game Cucina Stellata for free on Steam on October 21, 2026. The first-person short game is set in the 19th-century Italian countryside of Romagna, where a reclusive writer and gourmet cooks traditional dishes in a low-polygon kitchen. Cooking involves ingredients not found in the original recipes, and the protagonist is drawn into a hunger that deepens with every meal as his body and mind begin to change. The Steam version adds new story content and improved playability over the earlier itch.io release. CRITICAL REFLEX, which published Mouthwashing and No, I'm not a Human, picked up the title in April 2026 after the improved Steam version was announced in September 2025. The game supports Japanese and carries a content warning for violence, self-harm, and disturbing imagery. A paid supporter pack, Curiosities and Recipes, is also available, with production background, the work's inspirations, and recipes from Romagna.
