Koei Tecmo announced on June 29 that the Dead or Alive 6 series has exceeded 1 million cumulative sales worldwide, combining packaged shipments and download sales. The milestone comes alongside the June 25 release of Dead or Alive 6 Last Round, a new version adding Photo Mode, five DLC characters, and new costumes, plus a free-to-play version.
Koei Tecmo released DEAD OR ALIVE 6 Last Round on June 25, 2026, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. The re-release of the 2019 fighting game includes optimizations for current hardware, a new photo mode, and five previously DLC characters available from the start: Nyotengu, Phase 4, Momiji, Rachel, and Tamaki. However, collaboration characters Mai Shiranui and Kula Diamond from The King of Fighters XIV require separate purchase of usage rights, which will be available as DLC on the same day. Owners of the original DEAD OR ALIVE 6 can carry over game progress and most items, but the collaboration characters' usage rights and costumes are not transferable. A free-to-play version is also available, featuring Kasumi, NiCO, Marie Rose, and Honoka, with story mode locked. The standard digital-only edition costs 6,380 yen. Pre-orders that included a Marie Rose costume and hairstyle ended on June 24.
This week's game release slate, covering June 22 to June 28 in both Japan and North America, is led by several high-profile titles arriving on June 25. The most prominent is "Star Fox" for Nintendo Switch 2, a remake of "Star Fox 64" that revamps the graphics, adds new movie scenes, and includes an encyclopedia of characters and planets. It is sold through the My Nintendo Store for 5,480 yen. Also launching on June 25 is "DEAD OR ALIVE 6 Last Round," a re-release of the 2019 fighting game optimized for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, featuring 29 playable characters, new costumes, and a photo mode. The game has a free-to-play base version and a 6,380 yen full version. "Dragon Quest X: Children of Time Online" arrives the same day, an expansion pack that concludes the main story of the MMORPG, adding a new setting, a Storm Kaiser job class, and new equipment. Other notable June 25 releases include the RPG "Villion: Code" (9,680 yen), produced by Megami Tensei creator Kouji Okada, and the card game "Medarot Card Robottle RB" (5,478 yen). "Devil May Cry 5 Devil Hunter Edition" launched earlier on June 23 for Nintendo Switch 2.
Koei Tecmo Games launched a collaboration between Dead or Alive Xtreme Venus Vacation and Dead or Alive 6 Last Round on May 27, running until June 10. The campaign includes a login bonus offering up to eight SSR swimsuits, a commemorative fest with collaboration items, and an event mission for Honoka's SSR swimsuit. Separately, the 8.5 Year Anniversary Campaign Part 2 continues through June 4, featuring nostalgic gachas with boosted SSR rates and free pulls.
