Derby Stallion 2 Announced for Switch 2, Adds Local and American Horse Racing
During the June 9 Nintendo Direct 2026.6.9 livestream, developer and publisher announced the latest entry in the horse racing simulation series, Derby Stallion 2, for Nintendo Switch 2. The game is scheduled for release on September 24, 2026. For the first time in the series, Derby Stallion 2 will include local Japanese horse racing and American horse racing, expanding beyond the central JRA (Japan Racing Association) circuit that previous titles focused on. The announcement was accompanied by footage captured from the broadcast. No further details about gameplay features, modes, or pricing were provided during the Direct. The Derby Stallion series, which debuted in 1991, has seen multiple entries across various Nintendo platforms, including the Super Famicom, Nintendo 64, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS, and most recently the Nintendo Switch with Derby Stallion in 2017. The Switch 2 version marks the first time the franchise will appear on Nintendo's next-generation console.
