The sixth volume of Toryumon Takeda's Doga announced the series will end with the seventh volume, which ships in winter 2026. The story follows Yote, a young lord killed by robbers and revived in a cyborg body, who hires the street orphan Doga to help him find the mermaids who can make him human again. Takeda launched the series on Futabasha's Web Action site in October 2023. Futabasha shipped the sixth volume on July 24.
TV Asahi producer Kazuki Endo presented a special screening of the anime Tenmaku no Jadougal at Japan Expo 2026 in Paris on July 10, 2026. The event screened Acts 1 through 4, including Acts 3 and 4, which had not yet aired in Japan. Before the screening, Endo discussed the adaptation process, the decision to commission Studio Science SARU, and the production team's location hunting in Mongolia. The team, including chief director Naoko Yamada and director Abel Gongora, stayed with nomadic families in gers to research 13th-century Mongol culture. Endo also described close collaboration with original author Tomato Soup, who provided reference materials and historical verification with multiple experts. The anime airs Saturdays at 11:30 p.m. on TV Asahi's IMAnimation slot across 24 stations and streams on Crunchyroll in over 200 countries. The original manga won first place in the women's category of Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2023 and the Comic Division Grand Prize at the 55th Japan Cartoonists Association Awards. The venue was packed with fans, and applause followed the screening.

Crunchyroll and Toho Global released the first trailer for the anime adaptation of the light novel 'Though I Am an Inept Villainess' on April 16, 2026. The series is set to debut in July 2026. Mitsue Yamasaki directs the adaptation at Doga Kobo, with series composition by Yoshiko Nakamura, character designs by Ai Kikuchi, and music by Yukari Hashimoto. The story follows Kou Reirin, a noblewoman who wakes up in the body of a disgraced villainess inside an imperial court where rival clans compete to produce the next empress. The light novel by Satsuki Nakamura won top honors in the light novel category at the 2023 Everyone's Choice Electronic Comic Awards and has ranked highly in BookLive's annual listings. Combined sales of the novels and manga exceed four million copies. Newly announced voice cast members include Makoto Furukawa and Yuichiro Umehara, joining previously announced leads Manaka Iwami and Natsumi Kawaida.
