Free BGM Site DOVA-SYNDROME Renames to OpenTracks

The free BGM site DOVA-SYNDROME announced on August 18 that it will change its service name to OpenTracks and its website URL to opentracks.com, effective September 15, 2026. The old URL, dova-s.jp, will automatically redirect to the new one, including song pages and composer profile pages, so existing bookmarks remain usable. The site moved to corporate management in March 2026 and has been expanding its reach overseas to spread Japan-originated free BGM culture. During that process, two issues emerged with the old name: trademark stability and difficulty conveying that it is a music service. After finding no fundamental solution, the site decided to adopt a name that clearly signals its function and can be used reliably. The new name carries two meanings: music open to all creators, and the track record of Japan's free BGM culture continuing to the world. All audio tracks remain free to use, and credit notation for productions can stay as DOVA-SYNDROME if already written that way. The site also announced a free login function with favorites and history features, plus a paid plan offering ad-free browsing and improved search and download.
