Dverghold Enters Steam Early Access Today

AIP launched Early Access for the first-person dungeon RPG Dverghold on Steam today, July 30, 2026. The game, developed by Kvltgames and Team Sorgarn, is priced at 1,900 yen (tax included) and supports Japanese and English. Dverghold draws inspiration from classic 1980s and 1990s dungeon crawlers such as Dungeon Master, Eye of the Beholder, and Might and Magic. Players lead a party of up to four members to reclaim a dwarven kingdom overrun by aberrations. The dungeons are handcrafted, not procedurally generated, with puzzles integrated into the layout, though enemy placement and treasure contents change each expedition. Combat is turn-based and seamless, with positioning on the map affecting battle outcomes. After expeditions, players manage a base and mercenary company, dealing with fatigue and illness among veteran members. The Early Access build includes Chapter 1, "For the Throne and the Oath," with about 40% of the dungeons and main quest implemented. The Early Access period is expected to last 10 to 12 months, targeting a full release between mid-2027 and the end of the year. A demo remains available on Steam.
