Two new web videos in the collaboration between The Apothecary Diaries TV anime and eye care brand Enkin are now available. The Supporting The Apothecary Diaries segment looks at the production site, while Maomao's Monologue special edition features Maomao and Jinshi. Aoi Yuki voices Maomao, and Takeo Otsuka voices Jinshi. The franchise surpasses 45 million copies in circulation, with season three starting October 2 and a film on December 11.

The staff of Made in Abyss: Awakening Mystery, the first film in a new theatrical trilogy based on Akihito Tsukushi's manga, released a main trailer on August 7. The trailer introduces two new cast members and previews the theme song "Chain of the Abyss," performed by series composer Kevin Penkin featuring Hololive English VTuber Mori Calliope. Calliope co-wrote the lyrics with Penkin, who composed and arranged the track. The film is scheduled to open in Japan on October 23. Returning cast members include Miyu Tomita as Riko, Mariya Ise as Reg, Shiori Izawa as Nanachi, and Misaki Kuno as Faputa. Newly announced cast members are Sumire Morohoshi as Tepaste and Takanori Hoshino as Cravagli. Masayuki Kojima returns to direct at Kinema Citrus, with Hideyuki Kurata on scripts and Kazuchika Kise and Yuka Kuroda as character designers. The story picks up after the second season, following Riko, Reg, Nanachi, and Faputa as they descend into the Abyss's seventh layer.

Takeru Kirishima's manga adaptation of Hakubi Kokuto's Sekigan Renkin Kenshi no Yarinaoshi Kitan light novel series has ended. The final chapter appeared in Kadokawa's Monthly Shonen Ace magazine on Friday, and the third compiled book volume will ship on September 26. The story follows adventurer Yoruichi Yashiro after he loses an eye and is branded a failure.

The TV anime adaptation of the manga "Nisemono no Renkinjutsushi" (The Fake Alchemist) has been announced. Animation production is handled by Passione. A teaser visual and a commemorative promotional video were released alongside the announcement. The story is set in the city-state of Orihalconia, where alchemy and magic are part of daily life. The protagonist Paracelsus is a reincarnated person who works as a modest alchemist while hiding his cheat skills. His life changes after he makes a contract with Nora, a slave and sorceress, and meets Coco, an elf who has lost all senses and limbs. The original work began as a personal project on pixiv in 2020 under the title "Isekai de Ganbaru Hanashi," drawn in rough sketch format by Jiro Sugiura. It gained word-of-mouth support and ranked 12th in the Web Manga category of the Next Manga Award 2022. A commercial manga version illustrated by Umemaru began serialization in 2023 on Kadocomi. The manga has a cumulative circulation of over 1 million copies. Comments from Sugiura and Umemaru were also released. Further details such as the broadcast period will be announced later.
