Far Far West 'Frostburn' Update Adds Shields, Ice Magic, New Stage
Evil Raptor and Fireshine Games released the major update 'Frostburn' for the co-op FPS 'Far Far West' on August 27, 2026. The update adds a shield system that blocks damage separately from health, ice magic that can freeze targets, and a new volcanic stage called 'Hellfire.' The shield decreases over time, and ice magic includes spells that freeze allies to grant shields, freeze enemies to increase damage, or damage enemies while shielding allies. Three new melee weapons were introduced: knuckle dusters, a lasso, and a banjo. Knuckle dusters and the lasso handle wide-area attacks, while the banjo heals. Existing melee weapons can now be upgraded and customized. The Hellfire stage features falling volcanic rocks and meteors, plus three new quests. The update also includes lighthouses that reveal points of interest on the map, new jungle quests, and new Jokers and skins. 'Far Far West' is a 1-4 player co-op FPS where players are robot cowboy bounty hunters using firearms and magic. The game surpassed 1 million copies sold within two weeks of its April 28 early access launch and recorded a peak concurrent player count of 47,256.
