Psychological Mascot Horror Game FERALPALS Demo Released on Steam
Developer Polypaw and publisher Ytopia released a free demo for the psychological mascot horror game FERALPALS on Steam on June 11, 2026. The game is set in a world where humanity has been wiped out by a pathogen. Genetically engineered creatures called Gentle Friends, originally created by humans, now live on by imitating human society. Players explore their unsettling civilization and investigate the mysteries behind the experiments, the pathogen, and humanity's extinction. The story is told in chapters, and the demo covers Chapter 1. In it, protagonist Dan receives a call from his childhood friend Basil, who invites him to a reunion at an old forest campsite. Beneath the forest lie secrets and remnants of the lost world. The game uses low-poly graphics and emphasizes psychological tension through its world and story rather than jump scares or chase sequences. The full version and Japanese language support have not yet been decided. The developer, Polypaw, is a solo developer. Ytopia, the publisher, is an indie label whose first title, MISERY, sold over one million copies.
