Black Forest Labs Releases FLUX 3 Image Klein As 5.6B Open Model
Black Forest Labs released the image generation and editing model FLUX 3 Image Klein as an open model on October 15, 2026. The model has 5.6 billion parameters and is built on the same technology as the closed FLUX 3 Image. It ships in two versions: the base model FLUX 3 Image Klein Base for additional training, and a distilled low-step model. Both are downloadable from Hugging Face, and ComfyUI already supports running the model. Black Forest Labs says the model can render text and characters at specified positions inside an image, and it can render Japanese text at high quality. The company reports that at 1024x1024 pixels the distilled model generates an image in 8.9 seconds on a GeForce RTX 4070, while the base model takes 38.0 seconds on a GeForce RTX 4070 and 12.5 seconds on a GeForce RTX 5090.
