The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Gets New Expansion 'Songs of the Past' in 2027
CD Projekt RED has announced a new major expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt titled 'Songs of the Past.' The expansion is being developed jointly with Fool's Theory, a studio that includes veteran developers who worked on the original game. It will release on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 in 2027. Further details are expected after summer 2026. The announcement was originally planned for a May 29 REDstreams anniversary event for the Blood and Wine expansion, but was moved forward after information appeared early on the RED Launcher. The Witcher 3 has sold over 60 million copies worldwide and won more than 1,000 awards, including Game of the Year in 2015. The game previously received two major expansions: Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. Songs of the Past will be the third major expansion, arriving more than a decade after the base game's 2015 release.
