Fountains DLC 'Shattered Shape' Announced Alongside Console Ports
Canadian solo developer John Pywell and publisher Crunching Koalas announced a new DLC for the top-down Soulslike action RPG 'Fountains' on July 22, 2026. Titled 'Shattered Shape', the expansion is scheduled for release on Steam in the third quarter of 2026. It adds new explorable map areas set in the abandoned Southern Veinland, new bosses, new skills, new weapons and armor, and a story questline called the 'Usurper's Prophecy'. Alongside the DLC, console versions of the base game were announced for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch, though no release date or price has been disclosed for those ports. A free update for the base game is also planned, adding difficulty settings, a pause function, and quality-of-life improvements. 'Fountains' originally launched on PC in 2024 and currently holds a 'Very Positive' rating on Steam based on over 400 user reviews, with 85% positive. A 35% discount sale on Steam runs until August 5, 2026.
