Gameloft Japan Subsidiary Dissolved as of June 30

Gameloft Godo Kaisha, the Japanese subsidiary of French game company Gameloft, was dissolved on June 30, 2026, according to a notice published in the official gazette on July 21, 2026. The dissolution was carried out with the unanimous consent of all members. The reason for the dissolution and its impact on titles currently available in Japan remain unclear. Gameloft, known for Disney Dreamlight Valley and the Asphalt racing series, has not issued a public statement on the closure of its Japanese arm. The dissolution follows a 2024 announcement by Gameloft that it would close its studio in Cluj, Romania, and lay off 136 employees, which the company attributed to a review of production capacity in response to changes in the market environment. The relationship between the Romanian studio closure and the Japanese subsidiary's dissolution is not specified in the sources.
