ErudAite Inc. began recruiting users for a free closed alpha of Grimoire, a director-type localization platform for games, anime subtitles, and manga. About 10 companies will receive the alpha and provide UI/UX feedback. The product will be presented at Tokyo Game Show 2026 on September 18.
Konami Digital Entertainment announced on August 17, 2026, that Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls, the side-scrolling action RPG available exclusively on Apple Arcade, will end its service on September 3, 2026. Distribution on Apple Arcade will cease earlier, on August 20. The game launched on Apple Arcade on September 17, 2021, marking about five years of availability. Players control series characters such as Alucard, Simon, and Charlotte, using their unique weapons and skills to battle demons across various stages. The title involved familiar series staff, including artist Ayami Kojima and composer Michiru Yamane, and was formally announced in 2018 before its Apple Arcade debut in 2021. Konami's official statement thanked players for their support but did not specify a reason for the shutdown. Whether the game will receive an offline version or release on other platforms remains unclear. The game is available on iOS, iPadOS, Mac, visionOS, and tvOS through Apple Arcade until August 20.
Anime Feminist reviews the premiere of A Livid Lady's Guide to Getting Even. The episode introduces Elizabeth Leiston, who after being betrayed by her fiancé the crown prince, vows to destroy her homeland using magical grimoires. The reviewer appreciates the protagonist's level-headed ambition and her bond with maid Mireille, but notes the familiar villainess setup and Elizabeth's misplaced anger toward commoners. The animation is decent, and the show offers an enjoyable time for genre fans.
SFB Games announced that 'The Mermaid Mask', the next entry in the Detective Grimoire series and sequel to 'Tangle Tower', will launch on July 16 (July 17 in Japan) for PC, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. A demo is available on Steam with English display.
