Atsushi Nishigori and CloverWorks Film Grotesque Reveals 14 Cast Members
The original anime film "GROTESQQQUE -Grotesque-" from director Atsushi Nishigori and studio CloverWorks has announced its full cast of 14 performers, including musician Gen Hoshino and actress Sara Minami. The film, set for a 2026 theatrical release, is structured as three interconnected stories with distinct settings: "Elians" follows an alien girl and a civil servant searching for friends; "Yoroshiku★Shoujo" is a battle royale among girls called Gyaru P competing in a game called Queen of Butterfly; and "Nocturne ~This Grotesque Night~" centers on a pure-blood vampire and three infected girls traveling through a post-humanity world. The cast also features voice actors Tomoyo Anzai, Kana Ichinose, Maaya Uchida, Rumi Okubo, Rie Kugimiya, Miyu Tomita, Ikumi Hasegawa, and Saori Hayami, alongside Nogizaka46 members Miku Ichinose, Kazu Inoue, Nao Tomori, and Aruno Nakanishi. Character assignments have not been disclosed. Nishigori wrote the script, directed, and designed the original characters; he previously directed "THE IDOLM@STER" and "DARLING in the FRANXX" and served as chief animation director on "Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time."
