Valve Developer Lets Slip 'HLX' Codename at GameSoundCon 2026
At a GameSoundCon 2026 panel on Valve's Source2 audio engine, composer Mike Morasky mentioned that 'HLX' has its own version of an HDR feature, alongside Deadlock. HLX is the long-rumored codename for the Half-Life sequel Valve has never announced. Sound designers David Feise and Carlye Nyte shared the panel. The remark drew attention partly because Feise turned to look at Morasky right after it.
