Heroes of Might and Magic III Remake Announced at gamescom ONL

Ubisoft announced "Heroes of Might and Magic III Remake" during the gamescom Opening Night Live 2026 digital event, broadcast on August 26, 2026. The remake updates the 1999 turn-based strategy classic "Heroes of Might and Magic III: The Restoration of Erathia" with 3D graphics supporting 4K resolution. Players control one of nine factions, each with distinct playstyles, competing for control of Erathia. The package includes the main game and two expansion packs, and each original campaign is presented as a single story. New prologues, epilogues, and cinematic cutscenes have been added to deepen the narrative. The remake supports online multiplayer for up to 8 players and local turn-based play, with community maps playable from release day and custom map creation available. It supports Japanese subtitles. The game is in development for PC (Steam and Ubisoft Connect), PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, with store pages already opened. Ubisoft has not yet announced a release date, stating only that it is "coming soon." The announcement included a trailer showing gameplay and the new cinematic scenes.
