A PEACH-PIT 25th anniversary exhibition will run in Nagoya from September 19 to October 12, 2026, at the F Reed Building. The show features displays tracing the duo's career, three-dimensional exhibits, photo spots, and production videos. Nagoya-exclusive merchandise and admission bonuses are planned, with advance tickets sold only as merchandise-included sets.
ABEMA announced on August 14 that it will hold a "Heisei Girls' Anime Special" as the third week of its August "Anime 200 Titles Free Festival Every Week" project. Starting late on August 16, the streaming service will run marathon broadcasts of Aikatsu!, Tamagotchi!, and Shugo Chara! on its Family Anime 3 channels. Each work will be available for free for one week after broadcast. The Aikatsu! marathon begins at 2:30 a.m. on August 17 and covers all 178 episodes of the first through fourth seasons, plus the first film, Aikatsu! The Movie. The Tamagotchi! marathon starts at 1:00 p.m. on August 17, featuring the first series that aired from 2009 to 2012, including the "Lovely Tamatomo Arc," "Happy Harmony Arc," and "Collect Tama Heart Arc." The Shugo Chara! marathon begins at 11:00 p.m. on August 17, covering the first and second seasons of the anime based on PEACH-PIT's manga from the girls' magazine Nakayoshi. The festival runs four consecutive weeks in August, offering about 200 popular anime titles for free with a different theme each week.
Good Smile Company is taking preorders on Amazon Japan for a Nendoroid of Firefly from Honkai: Star Rail. The roughly 100 mm articulated figure includes three face plates and optional parts. The new Huggy Good Smile line adds Herta and Scote figures with movable arms and a magnet in the back of the head.
TVer began a limited free streaming run of three Precure films on August 2: Hugtto! Precure, Star Twinkle PreCure, and Healin' Good PreCure. The end date is not yet announced. The lineup includes the 15th anniversary crossover film featuring 55 Precure characters with original voice casts.
Writer Ichiha Hiiragi and artist mimita will launch a new manga titled Kanade-kun no Shugorei Yarimasu! on Shogakukan's Manga ONE service on July 15. The story follows a high school girl who becomes the guardian spirit of her idol, a pianist. Hiiragi revealed the project was delayed by a rear-end collision accident.
Good Smile Arts Shanghai is releasing magnet-equipped deformed figures of Madoka Kaname and Homura Akemi from Puella Magi Madoka Magica under the Huggy Good Smile line. Pre-orders are open at AmiAmi for 1,620 yen each, with a December 2026 release date.
PEACH-PIT's "Shugo Chara!" is now available for free reading of all 123 chapters on Palcy, Magazine Pocket (MagaPoke), and Comic DAYS from June 12 to June 14, 2026, at 23:59. The 72-hour campaign celebrates the release of the fourth volume of the sequel "Shugo Chara! Jewel Joker," which also went on sale June 12. The sequel is serialized in Kodansha's Nakayoshi magazine. The original series, which won the 32nd Kodansha Manga Award in the children's category and has sold over 4 million copies, follows a shy girl named Amu who protects "heart eggs" alongside her friends. After the free period ends, Palcy will offer a "Wait and Read for Free" ticket campaign from June 15 to 30.
A pop-up store for the anime Shugo Chara! will run at Ikebukuro Loft from June 16 to June 29, 2026, then tour to Osaka and Fukuoka. The Ice Cream Party theme features newly drawn art of five characters in café-style outfits, with merchandise including acrylic stands, can badges, T-shirts, and sticker binders.
A pop up shop for Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e, themed around Hyakki Yagyo, will run at AmiAmi from June 6 to June 21, 2026. Anime! Anime!'s second annual reader poll on the most memorable android characters in anime has named Tama from Gintama as the winner. The survey ran from May 12 to May 18 and collected 194 responses. Tama rose from second place last year to first, while Cure Amour from Hugtto! PreCure fell to second and R. Tanaka Ichiro from The Super Dimension Century Orguss took third.
