Quasimorph Officially Releases on Steam, Player Count Surges
Publisher HypeTrain Digital released Quasimorph, developed by Magnum Scriptum, on August 1 for PC via Steam. The 2D top-down turn-based roguelike, set in the 2200s, depicts inter-corporate warfare across space. Players act as the president of a PMC, accepting requests from corporations and controlling clone soldiers on missions. Failure means losing all items gained and brought in, plus the clone itself. Version 1.0 added 29 new firearms, multiple corporate stories and endings, changes to fire and liquid behavior, and a gas element. The game began early access in 2023 and has about 5,800 Steam user reviews, 83% positive, earning a Very Positive rating. Since full release, the player count surged to a peak of about 6,000 concurrent Steam players, according to SteamDB. Reviews in the last 30 days are 76% positive, with some negative feedback citing insufficient UI information and system depth. As of August 2, improvements were announced, with an update expected within a week. A 33% discount sale runs until August 15, pricing the game at 2,110 yen.
