Inori, author of I'm in Love with the Villainess, is writing a new yuri light novel series titled Poison for the Moon, Medicine for the Night-An Assassin Who Longs for Death and a Vampire Marked for Death. German publisher Dokico announced the series under its Yurico project, with the first volume releasing digitally worldwide in December in German, Japanese, and English. Komizuki provides illustrations, with guest art by Fly and Aroa.

Wonderplanet announced on June 22, 2026, that founder Tomoki Tsunekawa resigned as President and CEO due to health reasons, becoming Director and Founder. Akinori Sato, formerly Director, COO, and CFO, succeeded him as President and CEO. Sato outlined three focus areas for the next three years: expanding major IP collaborations, restarting original title development, and refining the hybrid casual platform SEED.

The cast of "Osomatsu-san: Jinrui Kuzuka Keikaku!!!!!?" appeared at a first-day stage greeting on June 12 at TOHO Cinemas Hibiya in Tokyo. The live-action film, based on the anime by Fujio Akatsuka, follows the sextuplet Matsuno brothers as they confront a world that has begun praising their lazy lifestyle. Members of Ae! group-Seimei Yoshinori, Masaki Sawa, Ken Kojima, and Masaya Sano-star alongside Takuya Nishimura, Miho Watanabe, Yusuke Onuki, Naenano, and Iori Noguchi. Director Taisuke Kawamura revealed that the choreographer said the sextuplet actors could handle the most difficult dance, so he requested maximum difficulty choreography, which the cast learned in two hours. The actors described the dance as more challenging than Ae! group's own songs and said it took a full day to film, like a music video. Koji Mukai of Snow Man, who played Osomatsu in the 2022 film, appears as "Old Osomatsu" and added ad-libs that raised the cast's morale. The film was postponed by about five months before its release.

June 9, Rock Day in Japan, saw anime and manga properties including Girls Band Cry, My Hero Academia, Precure, and Haibara's Teenage New Game+ post themed art and messages. The date is a wordplay on the numbers 6 (roku) and 9 (ku).

The television anime adaptation of Manabu Yashiro's manga Tank Chair has announced its main cast and released a character promotional video. The anime is set to premiere in fall 2026. Kōki Uchiyama voices Nagi Taira, the strongest assassin who fell into a coma protecting his sister. Minori Fujidera plays Shizuka Taira, Nagi's younger sister who seeks to awaken him by exposing him to murderous intent. Gakuto Kajiwara voices Naozumi Kurosaka, Nagi's former classmate with a rivalry against him, and Saori Hayami plays Touko Kurosaka, Naozumi's sister and partner. The anime is produced by Polygon Pictures, with Tadahiro Yoshihira and Hiroaki Ando directing and writing the script. Yūki Moriyama is designing the characters, and Masaru Yokoyama is composing the music. The manga, which began in 2022, has sold over 1 million copies worldwide and has 10 compiled volumes as of March 2026. Kodansha USA publishes the English version. The character promo video includes voiced scenes of the four main characters, and a visual of the Tank Chair Mark-1 combat wheelchair was also released.

Kiminori Wakasugi's That Time I Got Reincarnated in PES manga, based on Konami's eFootball/Pro Evolution Soccer series, ended on April 30 after launching on April 9. Kodansha's Magazine Pocket published the series, and K MANGA released the complete English version.

The television anime adaptation of Minoru Toyoda's manga Draw This, Then Die! will premiere on July 3. The first promotional video, released on Friday, reveals and previews the opening theme song "Isho" by Tatsuya Kitani. The series will air on NTV's "Friday Anime Night" programming block at 11:30 p.m. JST. The anime is directed by Hiroaki Akagi at Shinei Animation, with series scripts overseen by Hiroko Fukuda. The cast includes Akira Sekine as Ai Yasumi, Saori Hayami as Rei Teshima, and Inori Minase as Hikaru Sekiryū, among others. The manga, which launched in Shogakukan's Monthly Shonen Sunday in November 2021, won an award at the 70th Shogakukan Manga Awards in January 2025 and the 16th Manga Taisho awards in 2023. Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed the manga for English release.

The television adaptation of The Oblivious Saint Can't Contain Her Power added two voice actors to its roster on Friday. Shunichi Toki will play Theodore, and Inori Minase will play Melissa. The announcement came through the show's second promotional video, which also previews the ending theme song "Unknown Me" by Utahime Dream All Stars. The anime is scheduled to begin airing in Japan in July on Tokyo MX, BS11, and AT-X. The previously announced main cast includes Rie Takahashi as Carolina, Makoto Furukawa as Edward, and Haruka Shiraishi as Flora. Mitsutaka Noshitani is directing the production at studios Magic Bus and Picante Circus. Toko Machida is handling series scripts, Taihei Nagai is designing the characters, and SUPA LOVE is composing the music. Musical artist Kaya performs the opening theme "Windmaker." The source material is a light novel series by storywriter Almond with illustrations by Yoshiro Ambe. Earth Star Entertainment published the four-volume series in print between June 2021 and June 2023. J-Novel Club released the complete novel series in English. A manga adaptation by Yona Etou launched on the Comic Earth Star website in April 2022 and is still ongoing.
