On June 8, 2026, the Nijisanji vocal unit Nornis, composed of VTubers Inui Toko and Machita Chima, ended its activities. The decision was made so the two members could focus on their respective solo careers. Both will continue as Nijisanji livers. Nornis formed in June 2022 as a trio with Asahina Akane, who graduated in May 2023, after which the unit continued as a duo. Over roughly four years, Nornis released songs, held live performances including a 2022 broadcast on Shinjuku's Cross Vision, a 2024 three-city tour, and a March 2025 orchestral concert at Omiya Sonic City Large Hall, which was Nijisanji's first orchestra live. The unit also provided tie-up songs for anime such as "Good Night World" and "Shita no Kai ni wa Mio ga Iru." In their statements, Machita Chima expressed gratitude to staff, creators, and listeners, calling their experiences precious memories. Inui Toko apologized for the sudden announcement and said the memories and songs will remain treasures. The official Nornis website, YouTube channel, X account, and Instagram account will remain accessible.
