Journeys of Real People Launches on Steam With 80% True Traveler Stories

Independent developer Karin Bell released the PC adventure game Journeys of Real People on Steam on August 25, 2026. The multi-ending game presents episodes from real travelers as "80% true stories," told over a bar counter. The protagonist is a Tokyo bar worker who cannot find their purpose, and through conversations with travelers, they discover what they want to do. The travelers are modeled on real people, including Rieko Ayumi, author of Let's Throw Away Our Bras and Go on a Journey, who has visited 98 countries; Kenti, a nomad worker with experience in France, the Philippines, and Georgia; and Beru, the game's developer. The game features a signboard system that changes based on experience points from conversation, a gallery of 120 background images, and memos collecting travelers' values. The regular price is 1,480 yen, with a 15% discount to 1,258 yen until September 8. A demo is available on unityroom and itch.io. The developer previously created Gamer Stories ~Date Real Female Gamers~, which also featured real people.
