Just Cause Creator Acknowledges Liquid Swords Closure, Plans New Studio
Christofer Sundberg, the Just Cause creator who founded Liquid Swords in 2020, has acknowledged the studio's closure. Samson, its open-world action game, released in April 2026 and drew Mixed Steam reviews and a Metascore of 51 from 33 PC reviews. Sundberg said the overseas console version released in September 2026 did better than the PC version but not enough to keep the studio running. He cited the market and mistaken management decisions, took part of the responsibility, and said plans for a new studio are under way.
