Krachware Releases Horror ADV 'Don't Return to Wonderland' Demo on Steam
Krachware, an independent circle, released a demo for the dark fairy-tale horror adventure game "Don't Return to Wonderland" on Steam on September 5, 2026 at 19:00. The pixel-art 2D game, inspired by "Alice in Wonderland," is scheduled for full release on Steam in 2026 and supports Japanese and English. The demo covers from the story's beginning through the first half of the second stage and offers roughly two hours of gameplay. Players explore forests and dollhouses, solve puzzles and gimmicks that use mysterious powers, face a boss battle at the end of the stage, and play mini-games at an amusement park. The protagonist, Alice, guided by her best friend, the Cheshire Cat named Chie, journeys to save a broken-down Wonderland, which hides a dark story behind its cute exterior. The game includes scenes where eerie rabbit-headed figures pursue Alice, and moments where she suffers cruel fates due to player actions. All pixel art, illustrations, and UI were created by the author, avoiding pre-made assets, with hand-drawn animation and Japanese voice acting.
