VARREL Debuts Its First AITuber LUMA With Mago Collab Stream
Professional esports team VARREL announced on Thursday, August 6, that AITuber LUMA has joined its roster and will begin activities the same day. LUMA belongs to VARREL's Streamer division and is described as a VTuber with its own personality, knowledge, and values, growing through AI-driven conversation and streaming. VARREL positions AITubers not as replacements for humans but as one type of new talent or character, set to appear alongside pro gamers and creators to draw out each other's appeal. As a character, LUMA has a love for esports and an obsessive love for manga, aiming to bridge the esports and manga communities. The debut collaboration stream is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. on August 6 on the Twitch channel of Mago, a professional fighting game player in VARREL's Street Fighter 6 division. The announcement came from CELLORB, the company that operates VARREL, which holds the mission "Connect the World through Play." LUMA's official X account has also been opened. Technical details, such as the language model and voice synthesis software used for LUMA, have not been disclosed as of the announcement.
