Manga Nippon Mukashi Banashi Plans VOD Service to Fund Digitization
Ai Kikaku Center is preparing an official VOD service for Manga Nippon Mukashi Banashi, the anime that began airing in 1975. Revenue from viewing the works will go entirely toward digitizing them. The series runs 1,467 episodes, and the original films and tapes are still preserved in good condition, but only some works have been digitized. Preserving more than 1,000 remaining episodes will take enormous time and cost. Start date, pricing, and the distribution lineup are not disclosed.
