Maria Naganawa

Maria Naganawa's 2026 slate is all television anime, and all three shows are set for fall. Super Psychic Policeman Chojo came first in the coverage, on June 18, when the adaptation of Shun Numa's completed manga revealed its cast in a promotional video and visual. The anime debuts in October on Kansai TV and Fuji TV's new Tuesday night anime block. The story names Naganawa among the cast but does not say which role she plays.

A month later, on July 27, The World's Strongest Witch anime added Naganawa and Kana Hanazawa to the previously announced cast. That adaptation of Mochimaru Sakaki's light novel series premieres October 7 and will air on Tokyo MX, BS11, TV Aichi, and MBS. As with Chojo, the story does not specify Naganawa's character.

The most recent story, on September 4, is the only one that names a part for her. Frontier Works released a promotional video for Tanuki to Kitsune, the anime based on Atamoto's manga, revealing the cast and premiere date: Naganawa plays Usagi and the narrator. Misaki Kuno plays Tanuki, Nao Toyama plays Kitsune, Toshiyuki Morikawa plays Okami, and Takuma Nagatsuka plays Kuma and Usagi. The anime premieres October 4 on TV Tokyo's Animori program.

The throughline across the three stories is that all three projects land in the same October window and all three treat Naganawa as part of an ensemble rather than a solo lead. The coverage diverges in how much it gives her: the Tanuki to Kitsune announcement assigns her a named character and the narrator part, while the Chojo and The World's Strongest Witch stories list her among additions without a role. None of the stories state her role in either of those two productions, so no character can be attached to them here.
