MediaOCD is selling Aniplex of America Blu-rays through its own online store under a deal announced on October 6, 2026, and is preparing a blank-cover Vampire Princess Miyu Blu-ray for release on or before September 8, 2026.
MediaOCD has moved from a single troubled release to a wider retail role. In May 2026 it announced a restored HD Blu-ray of the 1988-1989 Vampire Princess Miyu OVA with AnimEigo, set for on or before September 8, 2026, but shipping with a completely blank cover and slipcase. The company had finished the remaster and sent packaging to Japan for approval over a year earlier, then hit a procedural logjam in the Japanese copyright system. Founder Justin Sevakis said the license expires next year, leaving no time for a proper release, so the disc is sold through MediaOCD's own website with no artwork requiring approval. It carries both the AnimEigo and Manga UK English dubs plus original Japanese audio, and pre-orders are open at $24.95. Sevakis said buyers will be able to get a real package later without rebuying the disc if approvals come through.
Five months later MediaOCD announced a sales agreement with Aniplex of America to carry select anime on Blu-ray Disc through its online store, announced from Los Angeles on October 6, 2026. The first titles listed are the Gurren Lagann television series and films and both seasons of Mashle: Magic and Muscles. The Gurren Lagann Complete Blu-ray Disc Box holds the 27-episode series, the films Gurren Lagann the Movie -Childhood's End- and Gurren Lagann the Movie -The Lights in the Sky Are Stars-, and two versions of episode 6. A separate Gurren Lagann the Movie 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray collects both films remastered in 4K for the films' 15th anniversary, with staff audio commentary, a leaflet, and the English dub. The Mashle boxes cover the first two seasons with mini-character stickers, a booklet, a soundtrack CD, and creditless opening and ending videos.
Sevakis said the Aniplex of America agreement keeps the titles available to fans and that more titles are planned. The two stories show MediaOCD working both sides of a problem: when approval stalled on one license, it sold the disc itself without artwork; when it struck a retail deal, it added a second channel for titles that otherwise move through Aniplex of America's own store.

MediaOCD and AnimEigo will release the restored HD Blu-ray of the 1988-1989 Vampire Princess Miyu OVA on or before September 8, 2026, but the disc will ship with a completely blank cover and slipcase. The company announced on May 29 that it had completed the HD remaster and sent packaging to Japan for approval over a year ago, but hit a procedural logjam in the Japanese copyright system that made no progress in over a year. MediaOCD founder Justin Sevakis stated that the company then discovered its license for the series expires next year, leaving no time for a proper release. To avoid letting the remaster go unreleased, MediaOCD decided to sell the Blu-ray exclusively through its own website with no artwork requiring approval. The release includes both the AnimEigo English dub and the Manga UK English dub, plus original Japanese audio. Pre-orders are open for $24.95. Sevakis added that if approvals ever come through for a real package, purchasers will be able to get one without rebuying the disc.
