Mikito Chinen has a new manga adaptation, Etsuran Genkin, running on Futabasha's Web Comic Action since September 25, launched by Hiromoto Komatsu. His Prometheus Taisen manga is on Kadokawa's ComicWalker, while The Killer Angel Within: Ameku Takao's Detective Karte manga ends at three volumes.
Mikito Chinen's recent activity is a set of three manga projects moving in different directions. The newest is Etsuran Genkin Ryoki Satsujin-han no Seishin Kantei Hokoku-sho, a horror novel published by Futabasha in September 2025 and adapted into a manga by Hiromoto Komatsu. The adaptation launched on Futabasha's Web Comic Action platform on September 25. It follows doctor Kasumi Uehara conducting the psychiatric examination of a serial killer responsible for the murders of eleven men and women in Tokyo.
That launch came after Prometheus Taisen, a new manga Chinen launched on Kadokawa's ComicWalker with art by Kiyo Hasui. The story is set in 2045 after a calamity, with humanity fighting monsters called insects using a guardian named Prometheus. The protagonist is orphan Jun Amamiya, who merges with biocomputer cells to protect the Earth.
Meanwhile, the manga version of the Ameku Takao's Detective Karte franchise is ending. The Killer Angel Within: Ameku Takao's Detective Karte, by Chinen and Eri Takenashi, will finish with its third compiled volume, shipping July 7. The manga launched in Kodansha's Good! Afternoon magazine in September 2024.
